PECD Information Technology (IT) Division takes a strategic approach in the application of technology to the Company's operations. Its team develops high value applications in-house. Its technical sophistication and depth of programming talent provides the Company with a significant competitive advantage. It also retains ownership of intellectual property in the form of programmes developed specifically for engineering and construction industry requirements.

Innovative applications under development and being deployed include:

 
  • A state-of-the-art human resource management system which goes beyond recording basic employee details to enabling the identification, tracking and development of key skills and technical experience.

  • An e-learning initiative in partnership with local universities

  • A comprehensive document management system which supports all project sites and divisions of PECD Construction.

  • Smart Home and intelligent Building applications which are based on the latest technology developed in collaboration with the specialists in security and automation

  • The deployment of video capabilities at construction sites to allow remote monitoring of progress and analysis of on-site issues

  • An e-commerce application which will support the entire construction process from tender through completion of projects

In addition to its ongoing research and development, the IT Division provides technical support and services to all of the Company's business units and project sites. These include:

24 hours/7 days technical support for all information and communications devices and applications
Provision and maintenance of high-speed Internet connections
Provision and maintenance of an extranet for company information exchange
