Within six
months of commencement, and building on the strong quality culture already in place, PCSB
was the first Malaysian construction company to achieve accreditation to the latest
quality standard, ISO 9001:2000. This accreditation was from Lloyds Register Quality
Assurance, one of the leading Certification bodies in the world.
The implementation of the
Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2000 in PCSB has enabled PCSB to guarantee a high
quality service to clients. Proof of this is evident in the number of complementary
remarks received from clients on our ongoing and completed projects.
PJHSB, the Development Division
of PECD Group, together with PJESB gained accreditation to ISO 9001:2000 from Lloyds
Register Quality Assurance in 2002. WHESB, the EPCC Division of PECD Group, will gain
similar accreditation in 2004.
In June 2002 PCSB, as part of
its commitment to environmental protection, began an exercise to obtain accreditation to
the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification and this is expected to be
achieved in the first quarter of 2004 after a successful preliminary audit in October 2003
by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.
The Environmental Management
System certification will also be extended to other companies within the PECD Group from
year 2004 onwards.
Once accreditation to ISO 14001
is achieved, PCSB plans to lead PECD Group to obtaining accreditation to the ILO-OSH
(Occupational Safety and Health) Management System in year 2005. PCSB will once again be
one of the first companies in Malaysia to gain accreditation to a leading global
management system.
Achievement of ILO-OSH
Management System accreditation will give PCSB a complete and externally accredited
Integrated Management System in accordance with the best global standards. |
